STRIKE!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Who would have guessed, a petite girl could get 3rd placing for a bowling tournament. That petite or rather small girl is me of course. *wink* Not bad huh for a beginner? :P Actually, not many people participated in the female category. Only 7. So i guess, that's why i won 3rd place with a total score of 455 playing 4 games..hehe I think if i were to enter a REAL bowling tournament, i mean the one with superb players throwing curved balls and wearing robotic hand gloves, i wont even get a number let alone win! :P But hey, at least i gave it a try and won myself a steam iron. :P This is just the beginning of my involvement in bowling. chewah..hehe Survivor won first prize last nite. Good for her! :)As for the male category, most of the winners were veteran players. hehe so now we know what they do during their free time. Of course from the scores we can see that the guys are better at playing bowling than us, girls. They have the energy what... :P

Ok la, just tot of sharing some bowling tips for you guys out there. Have a look.

Bowling Tip #1 - Keep Your Arm Swing Loose
The key to a loose arm swing is keeping your grip relaxed in the ball. Don't squeeze fingers or thumb, keep them relaxed, especially the thumb. To have a relaxed thumb in the ball your ball has to be fitted and drilled correctly. If your thumb hole feels loose it will cause you to squeeze the ball and then muscle your swing. Inserts in the thumb and finger holes can help give you a more secure fit. If you have a large webbing at the base of your thumb adding extra bevel around the top of the thumb hole will give you a deeper more secure fit.

Bowling Tip #2 - Use Your Lower Body Leverage
On the last step bend your knee to get down lower to the lane and slide your foot straight towards the foul line making sure it does not turn. Think of it as sliding into a deep knee bend. Counter balance your body by moving your non-sliding leg sideways to the opposite side of your bowling arm. Make sure you keep your upper body fairly erect as you get down low to the lane.

Bowling Tip #3 - Finish Up Close To The Foul Line
You should be about six inches from the foul line at the end of the delivery to have an optimal release. In an optimal release the ball is lofted a small distance over the foul line before it makes contact with the lane. This gets the ball further down the lane conserving energy when it hits the pins. If you are finishing up too far from the foul line move closer to it when you start out in the stance.

Bowling Tip #4 - Relax Thumb, Come Through Ball
Don't try to over lift or turn the ball during the release. It will only cause muscling and misdirection of your arm swing. Instead just relax your thumb and come cleanly through the ball as you release it and follow through, keeping your eyes focused on your target. For a strong release you need good lower body leverage (legs) and you also need to finish up close to the foul line (see above tips).

Bowling Tip #5 - Bowling Is A Mental Game
Analyze your delivery and think about what you are doing when you practice. Feel your good shots as you make them and imprint it into your mind so you can repeat them. Use visualization to practice off the lanes in your mind making perfect shots.

Bowling Tip #6 - Try The Drop Away Method
The drop away replaces the push away. In the drop away method hold the ball high up in the stance at shoulder height and take a small first step but don't move the ball (no push away). Instead just let the ball drop down into the swing on the second step. If this feels awkward to you try sliding your foot out on the first step until you get used to it.

Bowling Tip #7 - Shoe Sliding Problems (Sticking)
If you have trouble sliding buy a Dexter red slide sole and some velcro self sticking fastener. Cut red slide sole and velcro self sticking fastener the same size as rubber heel on slide shoe. Paste velcro fastener on rubber heal and fasten red slide sole.

Bowling Tip #8 - Develop Your Own Bowling Style
There's no good or bad way that bowlers bowl and anything can work when a bowler repeats same movements often enough. Do what works best for your game and gives you highest scores.

Bowling Tip #9 - Watch Professional Bowlers On TV
Watch the professional bowlers on TV and record them with your VCR. Play back the tape and watch in slow motion. Study how they do the basics to improve your own game. The women pros are great to watch because they rely on finesse over power.

Untitled

Yesterday my boss asked me to stop doing sales as I'll be going to technical next Monday. Yes, again. I think this is the 6th time im being transferred around. (Name pon management trainee) Just now, my boss and i exchanged and shared some views about our department. Actually at present, my current department is facing some kind of dilemma. We are involved in the logistics industry and I tell ya, this is one kind of industry. Confusing and complicated.

Everyone in the supply chain, from the truck driver to the freight forwarder to the shipper is greedy for money. Playing dirty is the key word for this industry. Come on people, it's a dog-eat-dog world. Only the strongest and toughest will survive. So imagine us, being a new company providing transport, we are in a sandwich situation. We have the company's name to sell but face it, our foundations are not solid enough to go on full speed. I can't go into detail too much cos I can lose my job for it. :P It's just that I pity my boss who's always trying really hard to come out with problem-solutions plan and everything. Well, a boss gotta do what boss gotta do. :)

Oh ya, there's an inter-department bowling tournament going on tomorrow. And ill be the only rep from my department. Haha what a joke! :) Dilla forced me to join (you evil you :P ) so I thought what the heck, who knows I might bumped into some cute guys. Won't it be fun? * flutter eyes* hehe Neway, if any of u guys out there are bowling fanatics? Come and watch us kick some ass opss pins tomorrow at IOI Senai. Bring your pom-poms as well. hehe Wish me luck! :)

Obladi Oblada...Life Goes On

Wow! It's been like ages since I last updated my blog. It's just that, I have too many stories, too many complaints, too many sadness, too many of too many's to write in my blog. So I just didn't bother. Besides, I understand and I know that everyone else has their own life to concentrate on. So that's that.Ok, on with the story.

So many things had happened recently. I just don't know where to begin. Currently I'm attached to the land logistics department, doing sales. I spend most of the time on the road. Actually, I kinda like doing sales but sometimes I just get tired of having to put on my brightest smile and sell, basically talk craps..hehe The main thing is to be friendly and confident. I mean those people out there, they are way more experienced than I am, so it's either being really confident or friendly to win their hearts. Er, actually its both la. :) Enuff talking bout sales.

Ok what else? Yes, the saddest day in July happened few weeks ago when my Chiki my dearest Chikiiiiiii, passed away. Remember the cat I mentioned last time? Yes, that's the one. I was really sad and devastated. My dad accidentally, ran over Chiki when he was reversing the car. I can’t blame my dad for what had had happened. It's not his fault but I really miss my Chiki. May he rest in peace. :(

So, I guess that's about the updates I can tell you guys so far but these days, I just feel so frustrated with my life. It's not the fact that I'm not thankful or grateful with my life. I thank Allah, for everything that I have now. I mean I can't ask for more. I'm being surrounded by the people I love, my family and frens and I have a job. I just can't describe in words what I'm frustrated about. In the first place, I don't know WHY I feel frustrated. Funny isn't it? Well, this is life. *sounds familiar guys?* :)

About Me

Got stains on my t-shirt
and I'm the biggest flirt.
Right now I'm solo but
that will be changing eventually.
I laugh more than I cry.
You piss me off, good-bye.
Got bruises on my heart
and sometimes I get dark
If you want my auto,
want my autobiography
BABY, JUST ASK ME :)

Quotable Quote

"If I had eight hours to chop down a tree,
I'd spend six sharpening my axe."
(Abraham Lincoln)
